"Gorilla Crutch"This research project applies bionics to the modification to the modification of crutches. Bionics is defined as the science of living machines. The "Gorilla Crutch" uses the forearm of a gorilla as its animal model. We are currently designing and testing an ergonomic hand grip which will pjrovide a crutch users wrist with suppport and stability. At the bottome of the crutch there is a shock absorber to decrease the impact forces on the users arms. |
